12 Person Tent
12 Person Tent – How To Make Sure That You Have A Great Holiday
If you are looking for a 12 person tent
then you are probably planning a pretty fun holiday.
The key to a great camping holiday is planning; overlook a few small things and the holiday can suddenly turn rather stressful.
Here are a few important things to consider before you buy your 12 person tent.
Water And Camping
When you are camping there are two sources of water to consider, that which comes from the ground and that which comes from the sky. If you are considering putting up a tent on potentially wet ground then you need a really good ground sheet. This is not to stop the water getting in, but to stop the bottom of your tent getting ripped. If the ground is dry then it is easy to check the area before assembling your tent for sharp objects, if the area is wet this is much harder as there can be stones just under the surface which can become an issue as the ground dries.
The second type of water is rain. Most of us have had great fun when it has rained on camping holidays. So long as you can keep some clothes dry and clean this is not usually a problem. However, with a large group, it is a little harder. Entertaining four or five people on a raining holiday is not that hard, entertaining 12 can be a lot more challenging.
Before you head out you need to decide how you will cope with the different weather conditions you may encounter.
How Many Rooms Do You Want In Your 12 Person Tent?
There are many different designs of 12 person tent; however, sometimes the ones which initially seem the most appealing are in fact the least practical. Some tents offer lots of different small sleeping compartments. This is great is you are a family of 5 or so; adults in one, and divide the kids by either age or sex into the other compartments. However, if there are lots of you, this may not work as well. Camping is about communal living. If a good percentage of the campers are kids they will probably all want to sleep together (or stay up and not listen to their parents together). So if all the kids are sleeping together you then have the simple decision as to whether to put all the adults into another room or to separate by couples. Familiarity is an obvious consideration in these circumstances.
So the important thing to consider is how many rooms you need and to be prepared for whatever weather you get.
If this is your first camping trip with lots of other people then you are best trying to go somewhere with reliable weather. With good weather almost all your waking time will be spent outdoors. This means that the tent
is only really used for sleeping and then whatever your tent, so long as it is dry inside, it will be fine.
